Freightos, a logistics company in Miami, Fl, has come up with an air cargo pricing index. This index is based on information from its Webcargo booking portal. This initiative is meant to bring more clear information about the air cargo market.
Its Freightos Air Index (FAI) will provide spot market pricing for users. This includes prices for global air cargo lanes, trade lanes, and differences in prices for trade lanes. It also provides information for weight breaks and airport pairs. Users will have access to data from the week prior every Sunday.
Moreover, forwarders, carriers, and importers/exporters are experiencing fluctuating prices and problems regarding capacity. Moreover, by spot market prices adding clarity to the market, relevant information will be provided regarding the freight landscape, making the process of scheduling out air cargo simpler.
